About Madison
I have a Bachelor of Communication from Massey University in New Zealand and now live in London working as a nanny and a private tutor/teaching assistant. I have worked at a variety of schools within London as a teacher assistant working with individual pupils helping with their learning needs. My favourite subjects in school have always been English, history or any English related subject, and got all As within my exams within these subjects. Therefore, this is what I enjoy to specialise within teaching. I am a huge reader and am trying to become an author myself!

I will use a range of techniques such as getting the child to read words and phonics that the child should know at their school year level. I will introduce to them a novel or book we are going to read over the lesson/s. I will use the “five finger” method to check whether the book is too hard or easy for the child, I will also read them the book that is harder for them as it’s a good way for children to learn new words. After they have read the book or material I will go over reading comprehension questions to make them have an understanding of what they’re reading. Then will get them to write sentences about the book or reading material. I will also arrange varied fun activities for children including getting them to create stories of their own.
