About Nicholas
I hold a PhD in Biomedical Imaging, specialising in Microscopy and Optics, from the University of Oxford, as well as a First Class Bachelor's degree in Physics from the University of Glasgow. My background is in Physics, although I also have extensive expertise in Mathematics.
I have a 2 years experience of person tutoring in London and another 2 years of personal tutoring in Glasgow where my students reported high levels of satisfaction with their achieved grades. I have experience teaching at a Scottish High School level thanks to a Physics in Education module I competed during my studies. I also have experience tutoring, lecturing, and demonstrating a number of courses and modules throughout my PhD.

My methodology consists of first addressing underlying theory which helps them gain an intuitive understanding of what is actually happening in a topic and a "toolbox of knowledge" to use when approaching problems and scenarios. Armed with this toolbox, we will then focus on problem solving skills which are key to passing upcoming exams, the most frequent source of anxiety for students.
