About Laura

Hello! I’m a fully qualified teacher with over 20 years of experience working in education. I hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a BA (Hons) degree in English Literature.

Throughout my career, I’ve taught children across different age groups and abilities, with particular experience in English, literacy, phonics and supporting pupils with special educational needs.

I’ve always loved helping students discover what they’re capable of, particularly those who have lost confidence or find learning challenging. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing something finally click for a student who has been struggling.

I believe that everyone learns differently, and I enjoy finding approaches that work for each individual. I’m patient, approachable and passionate about making English accessible and enjoyable.

I welcome students who want to improve their reading, writing, grammar, comprehension or general English language skills, including international learners looking to develop their confidence in English.

Above all, I want my students to feel relaxed, supported and confident enough to ask questions, make mistakes and enjoy learning.

About the lesson

I am a fully qualified teacher with over 20 years of experience in education, specialising in English, literacy, early reading and supporting children with additional learning needs.

My lessons are friendly, encouraging and tailored to each student’s individual needs, abilities and goals. I believe that building confidence is just as important as developing knowledge, and I aim to make learning enjoyable, engaging and rewarding.

I offer personalised support with reading, writing, spelling, grammar, comprehension and English language development. Whether your child needs help catching up, building confidence or extending their skills, I adapt my teaching to help them make meaningful progress.

I take a patient, supportive approach and provide clear explanations, practical activities and constructive feedback. My aim is to help every student feel comfortable, capable and proud of their achievements.

Lessons are available online, allowing students to learn from the comfort of their own home.
