About Bashir
I am Professor in the department of Civil Engineering, national Institute of Technology Srinagar, Kashmir, J&K. since 1993. I have obtained my M. E. in Geotechnical Engineering from Indian Institute of Science (ISc) Bangalore and Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, Mumbai.Affter briefspell of services in industry, Prof. Mir joined Regional Engineering College (now NIT) Srinagar in May 1993. Prof. Mir has publishes more than 100 research papers in international Journals and Conferences and has bagged many best paper awards. Prof. Mir has travelled abroad countries including Australia, Bangkok, China, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Italy, Tunisia, UK and presented his research papers. Prof Mir also Chaired Technical Sessions and delivered keynote lectures in International Conferences in india and abroad. His research areas include: Prediction of Soil Behavior, Foundation Engineering, Critical State Soil Mechanics, Expansive Soil Engg., Ground Improvement, Reinforced Soil Structures, Environmental Geotechnics, Fly Ash Characterization. Prof Mir is also an active journal reviewer and on editorial board for various International journals. Prof. Mir is Senior Member of IEEE and member of various Scientific and Professional Societies including MASCE (USA), MISSMGE (UK), MICE (UK), LMIGS, LMISTE, LMISCMS, LMISWE, LMICI, LMISRMTT, LMIE, LMICI, LMIIScAA, C.Engg (I), LMIITBAA, UACSE (USA), Sr.MIEEE (I)

I introduce the course subject to the students illustrating the essence of that subject, make hem aware about course contents and the course outcome at the end of course. I use both power point presentation and board together with full explanation. I take review of previous lecture before next lecture. I give assignments, but do not accept assignments in the form of colourful files, rather, students are encouraged to explain their assignment on board and also in the form of PPT so that each student do his assignment him/her self avoiding copying
