About Sandra
I have been privately tutoring students during the duration of my degree passing on skills and methods I learned throughout my secondary school and university education. I achieved As for Higher Maths, Chemistry, Physics and English during my secondary school education and will soon be graduating with Bsc (Hons) in Geology and Petroleum Geology. I will be starting my Msc in September 2021. During my undergraduate degree, I also had the opportunity to teach science to primary school pupils on a weekly basis as part of the BP Student Tutoring scheme. Through this experience I have become confident in teaching pupils as a group as well as individual tutoring.

My teaching method is flexible and I like to approach each lesson by finding out the background knowledge of the student on the given subject, their areas of development as well as what kind of learner they are (visual/ audio/ active) in order to make the lessons as effective and interactive as possible. I have the Curriculum for Excellence books and resources and I try to structure the lessons around the success criteria mentioned for each topic. I like to encourage students to ask questions on the topics covered in each session and any difficultly with homework that they might have.
