About Brooke

Hello,

My name is Brooke, I am a Geography teacher in Consiton also completing a Masters Degree, and I know how frustrating learning can be until you find the correct facilitator.

During my sessions I like to cater for all students no matter what needs that need to be met. If you are a visual, audio, active learner, I will always try to adapt my sessions to your needs. As sometimes you feel alone in the classroom being angry at yourself because of not being able to focus on the work at hand because it is not being taught in a way you learn. After spending a year in the classroom teaching Humanities, I found myself as a teacher working better in a 1-1 context to give learning a personality that suits you!

About the lesson

As a keen believer in opportunity I believe that each and every student is different in how they learn. My teaching style follows a more practical element opening learning to be an area for discussion and creativity. I aim for my lessons to be no longer than an hour as every day life is just as important. I focus my practise on positive reinforcement to further engage students to gain confidence and fight academic insecurities.

My lessons will be good for all students in the years KS3 (Year 7-9) and KS4 (Year 10-11) who want to develop their knowledge on the curriculum or revisit subject knowledge.

But I can also provide academic assistant for university students in subject areas of Outdoor Education, Psychogeography and the Urban exploration, The change of 'Nature' Perceptions, and Outdoor Leadership Theory.

Qualifications
University of Cumbria: Ba (Hons) Outdoor Leadership
University of Sunderland: PGCE secondary Geography
University of Cumbria: MA Outdoor and Experiential Learning (Health and Wellbeing)

Teacher of Geography (Experience 1 year)
SEN Teaching assistant (Experience 1 year)
Enhanced DBS Check.
Full UK Driving Licence.
