The aim of teaching Geography is to help students understand the world they live in, the relationship between people and their environment, and how geographical knowledge can be used to solve environmental and societal problems.

Many students think Geography is only about memorising countries, capitals, rivers and mountains. But Geography is much more than that. Geography helps us understand our environment, weather, climate, population, natural resources, agriculture, transportation, disasters and the relationship between human beings and their surroundings.
Everything happening around us has a geographical explanation. Why does it rain? Why are some places hotter than others? Why do people migrate? Why do floods occur? Why are some areas suitable for farming while others are suitable for industries? Geography helps us answer these questions.
As your teacher, I do not want you to simply memorise notes in order to pass examinations. I want you to understand Geography, observe your environment and apply what you learn to real-life situations.
