About Francesca

I have the skills needed to offer the parents and children a consistently high standard of tutoring, using unique and creative resources personally designed and based on my teaching experience. I will get the best out of your child by using their interests to steer their own learning. I pride myself on creating a very safe, warm and organised environment for my children, be that in person or online. Parents know I value them too. From the minute I start working with any family I ensure I listen to the parents and use their knowledge of their child to create a bespoke program. What makes me truly unique is my ability to adapt, be creative and work as part of a team, alongside you and your child.

I firmly believe that the environment is the third educator, alongside parents and teachers. It is my job to discover the individual children’s interests and develop their passions. The learning spaces (online, outdoors or at home) must encourage collaboration, communication and exploration. The environment must reflect my values and beliefs as a teacher.

When I started at Dulwich College Singapore I was in the largest Year Group and we opened our doors on day one to over 180 pupils and 1000 pupils across the school. I chose to move to Nursery in year two because it is a year group I felt was important for me to experience at some point in my career and help support my future aspirations to complete my MA in Education. I have now taught Reception for eight years, nursery for two years, and Year One for three years. development as a teacher to experience teaching this age group. I have a new found and deep respect for all Early Years Educators. My interest in child development, my significant practical experience in three different age groups and my interest in outdoor learning are all strengths. At the heart of all my teaching is a desire to bring out the best in my pupils and find their unique abilities. This is what my education did for me. When managing staff and creating a team, I try to bring out the best in my team and nurture each person’s talents so they feel truly valued and excited about their own progression. Having been part of Dulwich College’s opening year in Singapore, I am well aware of what it takes to deliver your absolute best when faced with the challenges of setting up a brand new school in a very competitive market. Helping to set up a new school taught me to be adaptable and a team player. I also believe strongly in supporting my colleagues and trying to pick them up when they may be feeling a little defeated or in need of help. It is vital we all look after each other in the same way we care for our children. A happy team fosters the best environment for all the children, teachers and parents to thrive in.

In every setting I have ever worked in I have always helped to enhance the curriculum and contribute to the wider life of the school as well. I have taken on extra responsibilities willingly and created successful events that have continued long after my departure; such as the Funky Flower Fair which will continue in Dulwich College Singapore next year and has continued at Dulwich College London for the last nine years. My efforts to raise money and help develop resources for a Cambodian school through Dulwich College has been one of my proudest achievements.

I am a qualified Kids Yoga Teacher and love to bring this into all my tutoring sessions.

Creative, exciting, innovative, unique, focused, inspiring and tailored made to your child. I will adapt all sessions to ensure your child remains engaged. I encourage a growth mindset, questioning and thinking outside the box. Every session uses my own unique resources and we always use mindfulness and simple breathing and yoga techniques to start and end a session. Be it Phonics, mathematics, Literacy or any subject it is vital your child learns lifelong skills that will help them to approach all learning in a calm and relaxed manner. Simple breathing techniques and mindfulness exercises can really make all the difference to a child truly achieving their true potential in all assessments, exams and activities. I aim to build these techniques into all sessions, so they become second nature and a habit for your child. These life skills will help your child to approach all assessments and tests calmly.
