About Mia
Hi, I’m Mia, a School Prefect, Student Voice Leader, and Army Cadet Lance Corporal. I am highly organised and passionate about helping younger pupils succeed. I want to teach KS2 and 11+ maths because I understand the modern school system firsthand. I know how intimidating exams can be, and I want to share fresh, relatable problem-solving strategies that break down complex arithmetic and reasoning. My goal is to bridge the gap between rigid teaching and student understanding, building the ultimate speed, logic, and exam confidence in a supportive environment.

The length of each session is 50 minutes online.
I offer targeted online support specifically for:
KS2 Maths (Years 3–6 / Ages 7–11): Perfect for children needing to build core confidence, catch up with school targets, or push for greater depth.
SATs Preparation: Targeted revision to take the stress out of Year 6 exams.
11+ Entrance Exam Prep: Intensive coaching for the high-pressure competitive exams used by grammar and independent schools.
My Teaching Methodology & Techniques
Primary school maths requires two completely different skills, and I coach students to master both:
For Arithmetic: I teach mental maths shortcuts, rapid times-table recall, and bulletproof methods. We focus on building speed and accuracy so they never run out of time in an exam.
For Reasoning: I teach them how to break down wordy questions, highlighting key clues, and structuring their working out step-by-step.
Active Exam Strategy: For 11+ students, I introduce past papers early. I teach them time management, how to spot trick questions, and how to handle exam anxiety using clear, encouraging guidance.
