About Joy
Hi! I’m a GCSE Maths tutor with a strong background in the subject, having achieved an A at GCSE level. I’m currently studying Architecture at university—a field where Maths plays a key role in everything from design calculations to spatial reasoning. This means I don’t just teach Maths, I actively use it every day. My approach to tutoring focuses on building a solid understanding of core concepts, breaking down tricky topics, and helping students grow in both confidence and ability. I’ve helped students make significant improvements in their performance, often turning confusion into clarity. Each lesson is designed to build a strong understanding of the topic while boosting confidence and problem-solving skills. We’ll begin with a brief overview to set the foundation, then I’ll explain the topic in depth—breaking it down clearly and step-by-step. Next, I’ll demonstrate how to approach different types of questions using the method we’ve covered, so you can see exactly how to apply what you’ve learned. After that, you’ll have the chance to try similar questions on your own, with my support as needed. This method has worked really well with my previous students, helping them to grasp challenging concepts and improve their performance in Maths.
