About Karthik

Hi, I’m Karthik, a passionate and dedicated A-Level Student heading into the Mathematical Computation field. I have a strong academic background in problem-solving and analytical thinking. I have achieved 10 A*s at GCSE and on track for all A*s at A-level. I was invited to participate in the Oxford University Computing Challenge (OUCC), a testament to my programming and algorithmic skills. Additionally, I took part in the M3 Challenge, a prestigious mathematical modelling competition, where I applied real-world problem-solving techniques under time constraints (14 hours!). Beyond academics, I’m highly disciplined and goal-driven, qualities I’ve developed through my involvement with the Police Cadets and my passion for cricket. I've led a chess society and competed in a national mega-final. The strategic planning and quick decision-making I have honed playing chess have sharpened my analytical skills. These experiences have strengthened my ability to think critically under pressure—a skill I bring into my tutoring sessions.

About the lesson

I believe in making complex concepts simple and engaging by breaking them down into step-by-step explanations and real-life examples. My focus is on building strong foundations, improving problem-solving skills, and preparing students effectively for their exams. Techniques & Teaching Methodology Concept-first approach

Why Me? I ensure students fully understand the "why" behind concepts before tackling questions. Interactive problem-solving – We work through questions together, identifying patterns and effective strategies. Exam-focused preparation – I teach time management, exam techniques, and common pitfalls to avoid. Adaptive learning – I tailor lessons to each student's strengths and areas for improvement.

Lesson Structure Typical Length: 60 minutes, depending on student needs.

Concept Explanation & Theory (roughly 15 mins)
Guided Practice with Examples (roughly 20 mins)
Independent Problem-Solving & Discussion (roughly 20 mins)
Q&A & Recap (5 mins)
