About Kai

Hello future students! I'm a final year MSci Biotechnology student with a deep-rooted passion for science. Don't worry though, I'm not all about textbooks and labs! I love to stay active playing football, rugby, and handball. My journey in academia hasn't always been smooth sailing; I've been exactly where some of you may be now, facing daunting subjects and feeling like understanding them was an impossible feat. However, through perseverance and utilising more beneficial study methods, I not only overcame these challenges but also discovered a true passion for what I study.

My desire to teach stems from this personal experience. I remember the uncertainty and the struggle of trying to make sense of complex concepts. Now, as someone who has navigated these challenges successfully, I want to share my strategies and insights with you. My goal as a tutor is to help you find that moment of clarity and confidence in your academic journey. I believe that with the right guidance and support, anyone can turn apprehension into achievement and even passion. So, let's work together to ensure you're not just prepared for your exams, but also excited about what your future in these subjects may hold!

About the lesson

My tutoring approach is centred around a personalised, engaging methodology, adapted to each student's unique learning style. I specialise in making science both accessible and enjoyable, with a focus on guiding students through complex concepts with clarity and simplicity. Lessons typically last for 30 minutes with the option to book double sessions for 60 minutes, providing ample time to delve into topics, practice, and clarify doubts tailored specifically to the student's needs.

As a 4th-year MSci Biotechnology student at the University of Nottingham and a former course ambassador, I have a profound understanding of the curriculum and student challenges, particularly in GCSE and A-Level Biology. However, as the world of science is of course a multidisciplinary field with each branch intertwined with one another, my experience covers a wide range of subjects including GCSE Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and A-Level Biology, Chemistry, and Economics. This background equips me to offer comprehensive support in exam preparation, study skills coaching, and time management.

My lessons are ideally suited for students at the GCSE and A-Level stages, focusing on those who are seeking to deepen their understanding of Biology and improve their academic performance. My goal is to not just enhance grades but to ignite a passion for science, making each lesson a step towards academic success and personal growth.
