My lessons are personalised according to the student's needs. I use clear, well-structured PowerPoint presentations to explain concepts step by step, making even complex topics easier to understand and remember. Students receive visual explanations, examples, and guided practice throughout the lesson.

I also believe that discussion-based and engaging learning helps students learn more effectively. Therefore, my teaching style is interactive, supportive, and easy to follow. I encourage questions and provide practical examples to make complex concepts easier to understand.

For A-Level Psychology (AQA), I provide targeted support in 16-mark essay structure (AO1, AO2, AO3), Research methods (a high-scoring but challenging area), Exam technique and time management, and I am always open to answering their queries, no matter how small or complex they may be.

  • 1) When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

I always wanted to study Psychology as it is directly connected to our mental, emotional, and behavioural experiences. Therefore, I did my Bachelor's, Master's and PhD degrees in Psychology.

After completing my PhD, which I successfully defended in October 2022, I wanted to share my knowledge and enthusiasm for Psychology with students. This motivated me to pursue private tutoring, where I could help students explore and understand this wonderful subject.
  • 2) Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

I teach Psychology, a wonderful subject that I believe everyone should have the opportunity to learn. It helps us gain clarity about our thoughts and emotions, and explore how the brain and mind are interconnected and influence our everyday lives.

I particularly enjoy teaching Research Methods and Statistics, especially because these are areas where students often feel confused or overwhelmed by different research approaches and statistical analyses.

As for topics I enjoy a little less, I would say qualitative research in Psychology is one of them. Although I appreciate its importance in understanding human experiences in depth, I personally find myself more drawn to quantitative research methods and statistical analysis.
  • 3) Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

Yes, during my Master's degree, I had a Cognitive Psychology teacher who made the subject particularly interesting for me. What inspired me most was the way they connected psychological concepts with our everyday experiences.
  • 4) What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

Every student learns differently, and at their own pace, so a tutor should be willing to explain the same concept in different ways, using examples that students can easily relate to.

Most importantly, a good tutor should be able to simplify complex concepts without losing their meaning.
  • 5) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

I think almost every Psychology student can relate to this experience! When we first start learning about different psychological disorders in Clinical Psychology, we often find ourselves checking whether we have any of the symptoms. Suddenly, every concept seems personally relevant!
  • 6) What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or still facing in your subject?

I think one of the biggest challenges in Psychology is understanding the complexity of human thoughts, emotions, and behaviour through scientific research.

Psychology aims to study mental processes and behaviour scientifically, but these are not always easy to observe or measure with precision. We often have to rely on research methods that involve making inferences about what people think, feel, or experience. This raises important questions about how accurately our methods capture psychological experiences and how representative our findings are.

I find this challenge particularly interesting because it encourages us to think critically about psychological research, its strengths, and its limitations.
  • 7) Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

I am genuinely passionate about teaching, and I love what I do. Psychology has always been my favourite subject, and even after completing my PhD, I continue to learn something new about it every day. Every student brings different questions and perspectives, which makes the teaching experience interesting and rewarding for me.
  • 8) What makes you a Superprof (besides answering these interview questions :-P) ?

I believe what makes me a Superprof is my genuine love for Psychology and teaching. This passion reflects in my teaching style, the effort I put into preparing my lessons, and my willingness to explain concepts in different ways until my students understand them. I want my students to enjoy learning Psychology as much as I enjoy teaching i
