About Melissa
I’m a Master’s student in Computer Science with industry experience in full-stack development, site reliability engineering (SRE), DevOps, and networking.
I specialise in helping ICT and Computer Science students understand coursework and assignments clearly, especially when briefs feel confusing or overwhelming.
Rather than rushing through answers, I focus on:
Breaking coursework into clear, structured steps
Explaining what the question is really asking
Helping you understand code, concepts, and system design
Connecting academic topics to real-world software and DevOps practices

My lessons are structured, supportive, and focused on helping students clearly understand concepts, coursework, and what is being asked of them.
I begin by identifying where the student is struggling and what aspects of the topic, brief, or assignment feel unclear.
Concepts are broken down into clear, logical steps, using examples and simple explanations to build understanding.
I focus on helping students develop how to approach problems independently, rather than memorising answers.
For coursework and assignments, I support students in understanding requirements, planning structure, and approaching marks logically, always working ethically and with a focus on learning.
Lesson structure & length:
Lessons are typically 60 minutes, allowing time to explain
concepts thoroughly, work through examples, and address questions.
Sessions are flexible and can be tailored to:
- Coursework and assignment planning
- Concept revision
- Debugging and understanding code
Students are encouraged to bring specific questions, briefs, or topics they would like to focus on.
Independent work between sessions:
- Where helpful, I provide clear areas to review or practise between sessions to reinforce learning.
- This may include reviewing specific topics, attempting practice questions, or outlining sections of coursework.
Any suggested work is focused and manageable, and key points are reviewed together in the following session to ensure understanding and progress.
