About Amy
I loved my job as a teaching assistant and found it so rewarding that I would like to help as many students as I can. I have a very flexible schedule as I am university for only a couple of days each week. Seeing how some students really benefit from some extra tuition, I decided that I would like to share my knowledge. My English degree is very important to me as my aspirations are to become an English teacher, through tutoring I hope that I can inspire others to further their learning.

As I was a secondary school teaching assistant, I have excellent skills in understanding what a student needs in order for them to access their studies. I have completed my GCSEs and A levels recently, so I know the requirements of the current curriculum. I’m offering hour long sessions primarily for GCSE science, maths and English. My first session is free in order to help me get to know how the student learns best and figure out a strategy that suits you. I understand that getting the grade you want can be extremely important for students and having a plan helps to relieve the pressure, therefore I aim to plan in advance what our sessions each week will entail. I am currently studying English Literature at university with the goal of becoming a teacher. I have a passion for teaching and like to focus on understanding the topic concepts before tackling lots of exam questions. I like to tailor the learning to the individual student as everyone is different and learns in a different way. Having been a TA I frequently differentiated work for students to make it more accessible, so I have a bank of knowledge on new ways to tackle the curriculum.
