About Lydia
Hi, I’m Lydia, and I offer GCSE Biology, Chemistry and Economics tutoring for students looking to improve their understanding, confidence and exam results.
Having recently completed my A-levels, I understand the challenges students face and the areas where they commonly struggle. I achieved grade 9s (A*) in GCSE Biology and Chemistry, as well as strong A-Level results in Biology, Chemistry and Economics, which has given me a solid foundation in these subjects.
I genuinely enjoy helping others understand topics that may initially feel difficult, and I aim to make lessons clear, supportive and engaging. I believe that with the right guidance, any student can improve and feel more confident in their ability.
Alongside this, I am currently a solicitor apprentice, which has helped me develop strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to explain complex ideas clearly.
I look forward to helping students achieve their academic goals and build confidence in their studies.

My approach to tutoring is structured, supportive and tailored to each individual student.
I usually begin with an initial session to understand the student’s current level, their goals, and any areas they find challenging. This helps me plan lessons that are focused and effective.
In lessons, I break topics down into clear, simple steps and explain them using examples to ensure full understanding. I then reinforce this by working through exam-style and past paper questions, helping students apply their knowledge and improve their exam technique.
I make lessons interactive by asking questions throughout and encouraging students to think through problems, rather than just listening. This helps build both understanding and confidence.
At the end of each lesson, I will recap the key points, check understanding, and give the student the opportunity to ask questions. Where helpful, I may also suggest light practice to consolidate learning.
A typical lesson lasts around 60 minutes, although I can be flexible depending on the student’s needs.
My lessons are suitable for GCSE students of all abilities, whether they are aiming to improve their grades, build confidence, or prepare for exams.
