About Preeti
I am current a gap year student applying to medical school and have always had a passion for teaching, as well as science. When I was studying in school, I would often volunteer to tutor other students and I also run my own martial arts club. In this club, I teach a range of pupils starting from age 4. Consequently, my teaching skills have become quite advanced as I tailor my lessons to each students needs, recognising that each learner is unique. As a tutor, I aim to create a relaxed environment where the student feels encouraged to learn and improve their abilities. My teaching style varies from most as I use a holistic approach, where the student's needs are addressed and the teaching is at a pace that the student feels comfortable with, whilst also maximising productivity using the most efficient strategies. As a student myself, I understand the pressures that come with studying and use my own experiences to advise other students on how to improve.

My tutoring style is based on each individual's unique style of learning. By assessing how each student learns best, I use appropriate techniques to ensure they get the most out of the time they spend revising. I show pupils how to organise their revision timetables and how to adopt active recall techniques so that they can best retain information they learn. Lesson lengths can range based on each student's preference, often 1.5 hours is sufficient. I achieved A*s in Biology and Psychology, and an A in Chemistry at A-Level. From the start of my GCSEs I refined my revision techniques to achieve grades ranging from 8-9s in all my subjects. As a result, I'm more inclined to tutoring Science at GCSEs and A-Levels, as well as Psychology A-Level. I'm also happy to teach KS2 and KS3 Science.
