About Jessica
Hi! I'm Jess, a future Registered Nurse, Certified Personal Trainer, and lifelong learner with a passion for helping students build confidence and reach their academic goals. I've always loved learning, and even more than that, I enjoy helping others discover that they are capable of achieving more than they think.
My academic journey began with several AP classes and AP exams in high school, which helped build a strong foundation for college. I later earned my degrees from San Diego Mesa College. After taking time away from school to focus on raising my daughter, I returned to continue pursuing my dream of becoming a nurse. Since then, I've earned A's in the rigorous college courses required for my nursing pathway and recently scored a 90% on the TEAS entrance exam, well above the national average of 64.8%.
As both a mom and a coach, I understand that every student learns differently. Patience, encouragement, and building confidence are at the heart of my teaching style. I strive to create a welcoming environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and celebrating their progress.
My goal is not only to help students improve their grades but also to help them become more confident, independent learners. Whether your student needs support with homework, test preparation, study skills, or understanding challenging concepts, I would be honored to be part of their academic journey and help them realize their full potential.

I truly believe every student is capable of succeeding. Sometimes they just need someone who is patient, encouraging, and willing to teach in a way that makes sense to them. My goal is to help students not only improve their grades but also build confidence in themselves.
Every lesson is personalized to each student's needs and learning style. Whether we are working through homework, preparing for a test, strengthening reading comprehension, improving study habits, or tackling a subject that feels overwhelming, I break concepts down into simple, manageable steps and adapt my teaching to help each student learn in the way that works best for them. I love celebrating progress because every small success builds confidence.
A typical session begins by checking in to see how school is going and identifying what the student wants to focus on that day. Together, we work through difficult concepts, practice problems, assignments, or study guides while making sure they understand the material instead of simply memorizing it. I also teach organization, effective study strategies, and test taking skills that students can continue using long after our lessons.
As a future Registered Nurse, Certified Personal Trainer, and mom, I understand that patience, compassion, and encouragement can make all the difference. I strive to create a positive, welcoming environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing at their own pace. I want every student to leave each session feeling more confident than when they arrived.
I offer tutoring for elementary, middle, and high school students in math, biology, health sciences, English, reading comprehension, homework support, study skills, organization, and test preparation.
