I teach to three standards; namely, factual, conceptual and relational understanding. This ensures that my upcoming mathematicians can recall mathematical facts, understand concepts and ultimately understand the relational structure of mathematics. Every lesson I teach focuses and builds on these three pillars of understanding. I encourage understanding using joy factor techniques to keep my mathematicians engaged and focused. All of my lessons end with a prize to reflect levels of engagement and success.
