About Shaun
I'm an Adelaide-born English tutor with 20+ years of international teaching experience — plus a performer's flair for making lessons fun.
At 23, I set off travelling and ended up living and working in the UK for four years. Back in Adelaide, I spent six years as a tour guide before the travel bug struck again — in 1999 I moved to Thailand, where I taught English, Drama, Pronunciation/Phonics, and Thai for the next two decades.
I'm also a performer and comedian, and I bring that same energy into my teaching. I run two YouTube channels — Fun Funny Phonics / Doktor OK (English phonics) and Learn Thai with Shaun — so feel free to check those out to get a feel for my teaching style before we meet.
I specialise in pronunciation, phonics, conversational confidence, and communication skills, and I love helping students actually enjoy the process of learning a language.

I have studied foreign languages all my life so I know the best processes and with 26 years experience I now can give you the best guidance possible. My style is said to be a lot of fun, relaxing, with lots of laughs. You learn better when having fun! I have experience traveling and living all over the world so you will find the time educational and interesting as you improve your English fast! I make grammar easy to master by practicing the correct patterns in real life. I use a range of speaking, reading and listening activities so it never gets oring and I tailor make classes to suit your needs.
