About Zoe
I love sharing my enthusiasm and excitement with my students, developing their curiosity for science and how everything interconnects to build the world we know! Having grown up on a small island, surrounded by so much natural beauty, it was inevitable that I fell in love with learning about how it all works. I chose to train to become a teacher so that I can (hopefully) make others see science in the same way I do! I would describe myself as being fun, kind, patient, and enthusiastic. I love meeting new people and challenging myself to develop academically and professionally - even teachers are still learning! It is important to me that I build a positive, friendly relationship with my students, as learning is easier in an atmosphere where the student feels comfortable and at ease. I have experience teaching science in secondary schools and working with students who have additional learning needs. I studied Biology, Chemistry and Physics at A level, and Mathematics at AS level. I then went on to complete my degree in Biology, worked as a teaching assistant in a specialist additional needs unit, and have graduated with my PGCE to teach secondary school science and Biology up to A Level. I also have experience in online home schooling Edexcel iGCSE biology and physics and have my own resources to go along with these courses.

Although biology (and science in general) is my passion, I can completely understand that for some people it can be a scary school subject with so many fancy words and complicated processes. My aim is to work with you to turn science into a subject you enjoy, or at the very least make it more understandable! Whether you're preparing for GCSEs or A levels, or just want a little extra support to go alongside your studies, I am a flexible teacher willing to adapt to your needs and teach any age. I am here to help and work alongside you to create those concise notes, or to provide that background context that teachers don't always have the time to give. The first of our hour-long sessions will be about getting to know you, your preferred ways of learning, and what you hope to get out of our tutoring sessions. From there, I will strive to ensure you get the most out of our sessions, preparing resources to fit with your specific needs.
