About Áine

I am a fully qualified and experienced secondary school English teacher, registered with the Teaching Council of Ireland, and passionate about helping students achieve their full potential in English.

I hold a First Class Master’s degree in Literature and Drama, alongside a certificate in English Language Teaching (CELT) which allows me to support both native and non-native speakers with confidence and expertise. My academic background, combined with years of classroom experience, enables me to deliver lessons that are engaging, structured, and tailored to each student’s individual needs.

I specialize in supporting students at secondary level, including those preparing for Junior Cycle and Leaving Certificate exams. I focus not only on improving grades, but also on building confidence, critical thinking skills, and a genuine understanding of texts. Whether it’s essay writing, comprehension, exam techniques, or oral communication, I provide clear guidance and practical strategies that deliver results.

For English language learners, I bring almost 20 years of experience teaching English as a second language. I have extensive experience preparing students for IELTS and Cambridge exams, as well as teaching both Business and General English. My approach is practical, supportive, and focused on real-world communication as well as exam success.

I also have a B1 in French Language Skills.

As a teacher, I pride myself on being professional, reliable, and approachable. I create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing their skills at their own pace. About the lesson

For secondary school students, I can help students become familiar with exam papers, focus on what questions are really asking, and improve their exam technique. I place a strong emphasis on developing students’ writing skills, supporting them to improve structure, clarity, and expression which can make a real difference in exams. Grinds are tailored to each student’s needs and exam level.

For English language learners, I also have almost 20 years' experience teaching English as a second language. Experience in IELTS, Cambridge exams, Business and General English.
