About Lena

Hi, I'm Lena. I'm a contemporary abstract painter based in New York and have exhibited my work internationally in solo and group exhibitions across Europe, Mexico, and the United States.

My practice explores themes of interconnectedness, human perception, memory, and belonging through richly layered paintings created with pigments, marble powder, ink, and mixed media.

Alongside my own artistic practice, I love helping others discover their creative voice. I believe that art isn't only about mastering techniques, it's about learning to observe, to trust your intuition, and to develop a way of seeing that is uniquely your own.

As a practicing artist, I can also share insights into developing a professional art practice, preparing portfolios, exhibiting work, and navigating the contemporary art world for students who are interested in pursuing art more seriously.

About the lesson

Learning to paint begins with learning how to observe.

My lessons are designed to help students develop both technical skills and creative confidence. Alongside painting techniques, composition, color, materials, and visual language, I encourage students to slow down, look closely, and discover their own way of seeing the world.

I help each student strengthen their individual artistic voice. Whether you're picking up a paintbrush for the first time or developing an existing practice, lessons are tailored to your goals, interests, and experience.

A typical lesson combines practical exercises with discussion, experimentation, and feedback. Depending on your interests, we might work on:
Painting techniques (acrylic, mixed media, texture)
Composition and visual storytelling
Color theory and intuitive color choices
Developing your personal artistic style
Creativity exercises to overcome creative blocks
Portfolio development or exhibition preparation (for advanced students)

My teaching is rooted in curiosity rather than perfection. I want students to leave each session feeling more connected to their own creativity and more confident in expressing what they see—and what they feel.

I teach children, teenagers, adults, complete beginners, hobby artists, and emerging professional artists. Lessons can be adapted for anyone who wants to deepen their relationship with art, whether for personal enjoyment, creative growth, or professional development.
