About Ferran
I started playing music at the age of 6 and soon discovered my passion for the bass. After years of self-teaching, I earned scholarships to study at the Conservatori del Liceu in Barcelona, where I graduated with top honors. During that time I was fortunate to begin a 3-year one-to-one mentorship with Michael League (Snarky Puppy), which drastically shaped my approach to music, performance, and teaching. His mentorship also inspired me to apply to Berklee College of Music, where I got a full-ride scholarship in 2022. I am now about to finish my degree at Berklee, where I’ve been awarded multiple scholarships and prizes for excellence. I’ve been lucky to perform internationally across Europe and the U.S., to collaborate with Grammy-winning artists, and to release original music projects (KIW, Once Bitten). As a teacher, I adapt my lessons to each student’s needs, and I am able to help in a really wide stylistic palette. Come if you’re looking to connect with the joy of playing bass and discovering your own voice in music!

Hola, this is Ferran! I’ve spent since age 6 diving into music (a mix of self-taught exploration and formal study) so I know exactly what it feels like to start from scratch, and to wonder how to actually get better no matter your level. I’ve been in those shoes, so I understand the frustrations and the challenges, but also the ways to work that will make you improve (spoiler: there are no shortcuts, but there are faster and efficient approaches and mindsets to practicing). I'll break things down clearly, answer key questions and help you build practice routines that speed up your progress while keeping things fun and motivating. I can confidently teach: bass, harmony, composition (jazz/modern/singer-songwriter... but not classical), sight-reading and chart interpretation, music notation, recording techniques, basic mixing tips, pedalboard madness, touring experience, stage fright and presence tips, production tools, a little bit of sound designing, Ableton & Pro Tools, synthesizer stuff, and can also give advice about career stuff, business and music colleges (like Berklee College of Music!). No matter the style: I can cover (almost) anything and I'm eager to investigate on my own if there's something you're interested in that I don't know well enough to teach you. No matter your age; no matter if you’re brand new, looking to polish your skills, or preparing for something big, I’ll meet you where you’re at and I'll help you bring your level up to achieve your goals. So, what You Can Expect? - Lessons tailored to your goals and pace (very beginner to advanced). - Study/practice plans so you learn how to and what to practice, which is the biggest tool I can maybe provide. - Really simple, friendly and effective explanations to make tricky concepts click fast. - Encouragement to keep growing & honest feedback (with love, but I'll speak my mind). I also speak fluent Spanish, Catalan and can make you laugh in French. I'm based in Boston but I travel very often to NYC and Barcelona. I have a good setup to teach online.

Very interesting and comprehensive classes. He's helped me a lot not only with the bass. Also with the guitar and harmony, with my compositions and arrangements, creating professional scores, and discussing my career as a musician. Great!
Clases muy interesantes y completas. No sólo me ha ayudado mucho con el bajo sinó con la guitarra y la harmonia, con mis composiciones y arreglos, hacer partituras profesionales y hablar de mi carrera como músico. Genial!Ferran is much more than a bass teacher — he’s truly my mentor. His understanding of the bass and of music in general is absolutely mind-blowing. What makes him stand out is how clearly and simply he communicates concepts that at first seem complex.
He has the perfect balance of technique, theory, musicality, and creativity, and he always finds a way to bring them together in a way that makes sense. Ferran also has a unique gift: he knows exactly where you are in your musical journey and helps you “build the house” step by step from that foundation.
He is extremely generous with the content and resources he shares, and his passion for music is contagious — every class inspires me to keep improving. On top of that, his versatility across genres is incredible. Whether it’s jazz, funk, rock, or anything in between, Ferran brings deep knowledge and energy.
I couldn’t recommend him enough! He is the best :)Ferran has absolutely change my life with the bass. His lessons are the perfect combination of creative exploration and high performance technique. He made me fall in love again with music. Is such a pleasure have such high level class musician as my teacher!
