About Olivia

Hi there! I’m Olivia, nice to meet you!

I was born and raised in Malaysia and am currently working as an engineer in the oil and gas industry. I studied in France and Belgium for five years under the JPA scholarship, where I completed my engineering studies recently last year.

Having spent several years living and studying in France, I developed a strong appreciation for the French language, European culture and gastronomy. I would now love to share what I have learned and make French lessons accessible and affordable for anyone who is interested in learning the language.

My lessons are suitable for beginners to intermediate learners for all ages, with a focus on building confidence in French reading, speaking and everyday communication. I’m happy to adapt lessons to your individual level and goals.

Outside of work, I enjoy watching movies, reading forums, keeping up with the news, and of course, discovering French food and gastronomy!

About the lesson

My teaching approach

I believe learning French should be practical, enjoyable and tailored to each student. I focus on building confidence in speaking, reading and everyday communication, while gradually strengthening grammar and vocabulary.

I adapt my lessons to your level and goals. For beginners, I can help you build a strong foundation in pronunciation, basic vocabulary, sentence structure and everyday expressions. For intermediate learners, we can focus more on conversation, reading comprehension, vocabulary and expressing yourself naturally in French.

Lesson length

Lessons are typically 1 hour 30 minutes, with flexibility depending on the student's needs and learning goals.

My qualifications & experience

I am a Chemical Engineering graduate from France, having completed my engineering studies at ENSIC – University of Lorraine in Nancy, France. I spent approximately 5 years living and studying in France and Belgium, giving me extensive experience using French in both academic and everyday settings.

I am comfortable teaching in English or Malay and can explain French concepts clearly to students new to the language.

Who are my lessons for?

My lessons are suitable for:

* Complete beginners who are starting French from scratch
* Beginner to intermediate learners
* Students who want to improve their French speaking and reading
* Students preparing to study, travel or live in France
* Anyone who would simply like to become more comfortable using French in everyday situations

Whether you're learning your first French phrases or looking to become more confident speaking French, lessons will be adapted to your current level and goals
