Speaking Chinese can feel scary. Many adult learners worry about pronunciation, tones, or sounding “wrong,” and that fear can make it hard to speak at all. I see this in my students, and I truly understand it.
I’m from Beijing and speak Mandarin with a clear, standard Putonghua accent. When I teach, my first goal isn’t speed or perfection. it’s helping you feel safe and supported when you speak. Mistakes are not something to be embarrassed about, they’re a natural and necessary part of learning.
