About Kavin
Hi! I am a recent graduate from University College London (UCL) holding a first-class MSci qualification in Physics.
I have also previously obtained A*, A*, A, A in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Tamil Language respectively.
I have consistently tutored other GCSE and A-levels students in both Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics for the last 7 years. In my final year, I tutored a student from King`s College London on a first-year Physics degree module (Electromagnetic Theory).
During my first 2 years at UCL, I was actively involved in a teaching volunteering society called Team Up. I volunteered as a tutor to teach underprivileged kids around London in which I taught GSCE Mathematics and Science. As Team Up's assistant program manager at Sacred Hearts High School, I tutored and mentored 3 students. I was also in charge of reforming and constructing new teaching materials after analyzing a survey by students and tutors to increase the effectiveness of each session.
While waiting to be enrolled at UCL, I have been a full-time GCSE tutor for Physics, Mathematics and Additional Mathematics for 9 months.
Furthermore, I have also been a tutor at college and have been formally certified by Methodist College Kuala Lumpur as an A-Levels Mathematics and Physics peer-tutor.
My students do well, thanks to my targeted approach and emphasis on understanding rather than just memorizing formulas. As a result of this, I'm proud to say most of my students were able to get into prestigious universities in London such as Imperial College London and UCL.

Method of teaching:
I believe the best way to teach someone is to inspire them to learn more about the topic by sparking their interest. I encourage my students to ask me questions in and outside of class, as teaching is more fun and productive when the students are well engaged in the topic. For every student I teach, I will begin by asking which area/topic are they least comfortable with and customize my teaching based on that to boost their confidence and results. Moreover, as I do encourage my students to ask me questions, I will be giving them my contact detail so they can contact me outside of class to ask me questions.
For my online tutees, I will be using a special web application to create an online classroom. My classes will be recorded so that my tutees can rewatch them again at their convenience. Please do contact me for more details.

Perfect! I needed a lot of dedicated help understanding my physics module which used unnecessarily technical wording and diagrams. Kavin was patient and thorough as we went through each slide and concept with him explaining it all in relatable terms. Really helped bridge my A-level knowledge to my uni content which especially needed personalized teaching after missing out a lot during all the lockdowns. Lessons are online which I was a bit worried about but he would explain everything with both live writing and diagrams which could be accessed for later use. Would highly recommend him.
