About Victor
Hi! I’m Victor, a friendly and approachable Physics and Maths tutor with a PhD in Biophysics from the University of Manchester.
My academic background combines physics, mathematics, biology and computing, and my PhD research involved everything from mathematical modelling and programming to microscopy and microfluidics. I really enjoy science and problem-solving, but I also understand that Maths and Physics can sometimes feel overwhelming, so I like explaining difficult ideas in a relaxed and patient way.
Outside academia, I’m a big fan of nerd culture! I enjoy video games, board games, science fiction, fantasy and generally getting far too interested in how things work. I’m always happy to use examples connected to a student’s own interests if it helps make a difficult concept click.
I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions, including the ones they might be embarrassed to ask in a classroom. Whether you’re aiming for a top grade, preparing for an exam, struggling with a particular topic, or simply want to become more confident with Maths or Physics, I’m happy to help.

My lessons are tailored to each student’s level, goals and learning style. I aim to make Maths and Physics approachable by breaking difficult concepts down into clear, manageable steps and helping students understand the reasoning behind the equations rather than simply memorising them.
I can tutor Maths and Physics at GCSE and A-Level, as well as undergraduate Physics and related mathematical subjects. Lessons can focus on understanding course material, working through problem sets, revising difficult topics, improving mathematical confidence, or preparing for exams.
I have a PhD in Biophysics from the University of Manchester and a strong background in Physics, Mathematics, computational modelling and experimental science. This allows me to explain both the mathematical foundations of a topic and how the concepts are applied to real scientific problems.
I encourage students to ask questions freely and work through problems with me at their own pace. My goal is to create a relaxed and supportive environment where students can build confidence, strengthen their problem-solving skills and develop a genuine understanding of the subject.
