About Sana'a

I'm a literature student at the University of Bristol who's passionate about sharing my knowledge and love for the subject. I'm friendly, open-minded and always aim to help my students achieve their full potential and build their confidence in the subject. The teaching approach I like to take is one that involves a lot of communication with my student instead of just talking at them, I like to hear their thoughts, questions and ideas to help build them up. I also strive to tailor my lessons to each of my student's learning styles so they can fully engage with the lesson and get the most out of it. English has always been my favourite subject since I was very young and I have always aspired to share this passion with those around me, after uni I aim to apply the skills I gain from tutoring to hopefully go into the field of journalism.

About the lesson

My lessons are usually an hour long, for KS3, GCSE and A level students; I have been tutoring for over a year and helped multiple students raise their confidence and grades in the subject. I aim to structure my lessons around my students' targets and areas of improvement, to help build their skills and self-assurance in the subject by centring the lesson around their goals. In this way, I ensure that my lessons are personalised and tailored to meet each student's individual form of learning, making the lesson an open, comfortable and enjoyable learning space. I like to draw upon various reliable teaching materials to curate a comprehensive lesson plan that conveys complex ideas in simple language, making it easier for the student to digest. For example I like to use visual representations such as diagrams and mind maps, also equipping my students with multiple forms of revision techniques as well as useful tips to implement into their studying. I also ensure to regularly communicate with my students and maintain open discussions so that I can build upon their thoughts, ideas and questions allowing them to take an active role in their learning journey. I find consistent reassurance and reflective conversations to be a crucial part of the teaching process in order to track the student's progress and further build their confidence, encouraging them to be more engaged with the subject.
