About Emily
I have been a swim teacher of babies, school children, adults and persons with additional needs since 2010. I ran a playgroup for 14 years before that and consider myself a people person who builds a terrific rapport with children and families. I am austswim qualified and have also undertaken training through Autism Swim and Swim Australia webinars.

I believe in establishing clear goals with either the student or the students carers. I believe in a child centred approach without force - understanding that children learn best when they are happy. I particularly love teaching students who are afraid of the aquatic environment and being involved in the process of helping them to not only appreciate, but love the water. I take a progressive approach when teaching recognising that a skill needs to be mastered before a new skill can be learned.
