About Sahel

I am a vocalist by trade and a creative at heart, who has enjoyed English language and literature since my school times. I enjoyed good grades at both GCSE and A-Level, and have always been interested in the nuances of language, etymology and structures, and how they are similar or dissimilar to other languages (you'd be surprised how much crossover there is between languages and links you'd never thought would exist!

Through teaching, I hope to inspire at least some of this feeling in my students, especially at a younger age where passions and interests are blooming.

About the lesson

Hello!

My English lessons aim to create confidence in the use of the English language inclusive of speaking, reading and writing. Lessons are tailored to each student’s level and learning style, ensuring they feel comfortable whilst still being challenged.

I focus on:

- Breaking down reading comprehension step-by-step (understanding, inference, and explanation)
- Developing creative writing through structure, vocabulary, and idea generation
- Strengthening grammar, punctuation, and spelling through practical exercises
- Building exam techniques for 11+ (timing, question approach, and accuracy)

Lessons are typically 60 minutes, allowing time to cover skills in depth and practise effectively. I also offer 30-minute sessions for younger students or those who benefit from shorter, more focused lessons.

I have a strong background in English through writing, including experience in creative writing and spoken word. Using this experience, I help students find the best way to express themselves, feel comfortable in a teaching setting and build on their skills.

I teach primary school students, students practising for 11+ and any student who wishes to improve their basic English literacy.
