About Katie
With more than 7 years of experience, I specialise in teaching flute to students from different age groups and backgrounds. I teach school children, college students, and working professionals who want to learn music either as a hobby or for serious training.
My teaching method focuses on strong basics and steady progress. I start with breathing exercises, sound clarity, finger coordination, and rhythm practice. I ensure that students understand each lesson clearly before moving forward. I encourage regular practice and provide structured lesson plans to track improvement.
In addition to flute training, I also teach music theory, scale formation, improvisation basics, ear training, and performance techniques. These subjects help students understand music deeply and not just play mechanically.
I use real-life examples, small exercises, and simple explanations to make learning easy. I also guide students in stage confidence, expression, and tone control. My unique skill is identifying each student’s strengths and weaknesses and designing lessons that match their goals. I believe learning flute should be joyful, disciplined, and inspiring.

My flute teaching methodology emphasises communication, creativity, and flexibility to support each student’s learning journey. I explain techniques in simple language and provide demonstrations to ensure students understand and apply them correctly. Open communication is encouraged so students can ask questions, share challenges, and receive constructive guidance.
Creativity is incorporated through warm-ups, rhythm exercises, tone-building activities, improvisation, and expressive music practice to keep lessons enjoyable and motivating. Lessons are customised based on the student’s pace, skill level, and goals.
Flute lessons cover breathing techniques, posture, embouchure, finger coordination, articulation, scales, rhythm, and sight reading. Alongside flute, I teach related subjects such as music theory, note reading, rhythm training, ear training, and performance skills to develop confident, well-rounded musicians.
