About Mia
Hi! My name is Mia and I study Classics at UCL. I am in my second year of studying and achieved a 1st in the first year of my degree. I went to City of London School for Girls and then Brighton College for 6th form where I studied both Latin and Spanish for many years achieving high A*s in both IGCSEs and high As at A level. Although I did not study Ancient Greek at school, I have averaged around 90% in all of the modules that I have completed in it. I have completed the intermediate course and will move on to advanced next year so, despite having not done the GCSE myself, I am well equipped to tutor it.

When I have tutored students in the past I have used many different methods depending on the students' skill set and ability level. I will often take them through a subject and then show them example sentences which we will go through slowly together. Then, depending on the type of subject we are going through I will often do a small verbal or written test to make sure they completely understand the subject. I understand what it's like to have struggled with things so I take quite a gentle and understanding approach. For Latin and Ancient Greek, I have had to do many set texts and so can help with the learning of that as well as giving tips for revision. I know that it can sometimes be more effective to do many of these things face to face but I believe I can help just as much over online tutoring.
