About Sophie
Hi, I’m Sophie. I studied Psychology, French, Russian and Drama at A-level, where I developed a strong interest in languages and communication and where I acquired the highest score in Russian A-level in the Middle East. Studying psychology also helped me understand how people learn in different ways and the importance of adapting teaching to suit each student’s needs. I know from my own experience that subjects like languages can sometimes feel challenging or overwhelming, but the right techniques and support can make a huge difference. I want to teach because I enjoy helping students build confidence, discover learning methods that work for them, and see real progress in their abilities. Tutoring allows me to combine my passion for languages with supporting others in achieving their academic goals.

My Russian lessons are engaging, supportive, and tailored to each student’s level and goals. I focus on helping students build confidence in speaking while developing a strong understanding of grammar and vocabulary. Lessons include a mix of conversation practice, explanations of grammar, listening activities, and interactive exercises such as roleplays to help students use Russian in a natural way. I aim to create a relaxed and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as part of the learning process.
