About Colton

My passion for French developed through an early love for the language’s elegance, culture, and literature. Over the past 8 years of teaching French, I’ve enjoyed helping students of different ages and backgrounds discover the joy and confidence that come with learning a new language. Sharing French with others has allowed me to connect with people on a deeper cultural and personal level. I teach with patience, encouragement, and a positive approach that supports each student’s unique learning style. I adapt lessons to individual goals — whether conversational fluency, academic success, or cultural immersion — ensuring every learner stays motivated and empowered. I believe in making French feel accessible and enjoyable, not overwhelming, while still providing the structure needed for progress. Outside of teaching, I continue to enrich my own connection to the language through reading, films, travel, and cultural exploration. Teaching French is more than a profession to me — it’s a way to open doors to new perspectives and help students experience the world through a different lens. Seeing their growth and confidence is a continual source of inspiration.

About the lesson

My French lessons are designed to make language learning enjoyable, practical, and confidence-boosting. I believe that students make the greatest progress when they feel comfortable speaking, making mistakes, and exploring the beauty of the French language in a relaxed yet structured environment. Lessons combine authentic communication with cultural insight, helping learners connect with the language on a personal level.

Beginners are guided through essential vocabulary, pronunciation, everyday expressions, and foundational grammar using interactive exercises and real-life scenarios. Intermediate learners expand their conversation skills, improve sentence structure, and strengthen listening, reading, and writing through dialogues, role-plays, and varied texts. Advanced students refine fluency, expression, cultural nuance, and accuracy, with the option to prepare for travel, exams, or professional use. Each lesson includes speaking practice for natural communication and confidence-building.

Students gain more than language skills — they develop a sense of cultural connection, curiosity, and confidence in expressing themselves in French. My aim is for learners to feel comfortable using the language beyond the classroom, whether traveling, studying, working, or building meaningful cultural experiences.
