About Asha
I am a French tutor with over 6 years of experience and hold a BA in French for Tourism and Hospitality. My passion lies in helping high school and university students who struggle with film analysis and dialogue writing. I know how overwhelming cinematic language can feel, so I specialize in breaking it down into simple, manageable steps. In my lessons, I guide students to understand key concepts, themes, and stylistic choices without getting lost in jargon. Dialogue writing becomes less intimidating as I show learners how to shape their ideas with clarity and expression. I encourage students to connect their writing to their own interpretations, making the process more personal and engaging. I have a deep love for French New Wave, contemporary cinema, and critical theory, and I bring this enthusiasm into every session. By blending academic rigor with creativity, I help students approach their assignments with confidence. Each lesson is designed to strengthen analytical skills while also nurturing expressive writing. My approach is supportive, flexible, and focused on building lasting understanding. I believe that film studies should be exciting, not overwhelming. With guidance, patience, and encouragement, students can turn challenges into growth. Together, we transform film struggles into true cinematic confidence.

My teaching approach in French is centered on active dialogue and real-world scenarios. I believe the best way to learn a language is by using it in meaningful contexts. Every lesson is designed to build both confidence and fluency step by step. Conversational practice is at the heart of my method, helping students speak naturally and without hesitation. Cultural immersion is woven into lessons, bringing in music, film, and everyday expressions to make French feel alive. Accent reduction is another focus, with exercises that sharpen pronunciation and make speech sound authentic. Grammar coaching supports accuracy, ensuring students can express themselves clearly and correctly. I work closely with students who need to prepare for exams, guiding them through structured practice and targeted strategies for success. For learners who love diving deep into the language, I provide tools to explore advanced structures and nuances. My lessons balance clarity with challenge, so progress feels steady and rewarding. I encourage learners to take risks, ask questions, and keep conversations flowing. Mistakes are part of the process, and we use them as opportunities to grow. Together, we build a learning space that is supportive, engaging, and motivating. My goal is to help every student speak French with ease, confidence, and joy.
