About Deborah
I have worked in teaching and tutoring of the French language for 12 years and have also worked in the Customer Support industry. In the Customer Service sector, I also educated Customers on products such as their benefits, their loans, and what options were available to them. I served as a Bilingual representative for several of those years. I've been studying French for more than 35 years and have traveled to France more than a dozen times where I've been fortunate to immerse myself in the language and culture by being hosted by gracious French friends.

I am gracious in my teaching, understanding that each student brings capacity to learn language to the table, but that each one will also do so in a particular way. I work to find out what works best for each student, whilst utilizing industry-proven standards of immersion in the target language. From time to time, I am open to explaining certain concepts in the Client's native tongue, for in this way, anxiety is reduced and some students will learn best, thereby continuing to progress.

Details
If I need to travel more than 5 miles to meet a student (at their home or at an agreed-upon third-party location), there will be an extra fee of $3 per hour. The level of the student does have any effect of the hourly rate. If cancellation is necessary, I kindly request as much notice as is possible, with 24 hours being the preference. One missed lesson is allowed without charge, as it is understood that, at times, circumstances may prevent a Student or their representative from calling ahead to cancel. Two missed lessons or more, without advance notification, within a 6-month period will be charged at 2/3 the rate of the lesson.
