About Lisa
I love sharing my passion and enthusiasm for languages! Whenever you ask an adult what they wished they'd learnt better at school or stayed learning, the answer is invariably either a language or musical instrument. Communication and languages are the cornerstone of life and I have used my language skills every day since leaving my own educational path and have fostered friendships all over the world because of it. I've used languages in business, in travel and in my personal life. I love to share this knowledge and believe ardently that language learning should be an enjoyable, practical and non-intimidating experience.
With the increased globalisation of world markets, UK citizens need to catch up with their European and Global counterparts when it comes to learning languages; so why wait to start?

I believe language learning should be FUN, easy to transition into REAL LIFE CONTEXT and have a strong INTERCULTURAL COMPONENT. I work a lot around confidence in language application across all 4 mediums, but with a focus on speaking, which invariably is the weakest part for most learners. I try to debunk the myth that language learning is hard and embrace a spectrum of methods to help the learner improve; instruction, pair interaction, puzzle solving, translation, grammar, oral work - and so much more. Language learning goes far beyond just the language itself.
I have a language degree in French and Spanish, have lived in both France and Spain at length and am career changing to do a masters in teaching, having already taught all ages and levels, with hundreds of hours in the classroom itself. More than that, my passion for languages is infectious and I strive to imbue this passion into all my students, regardless of age. I can teach and tailor classes to any age or level, from beginner to A-Level, primary to adult. DBS approved.
For maximum productivity, I recommend lessons of 45 minutes to 1 hour, but can amend this to be longer if required.
