About Bouchera
Hi, I’m Bouchera! I’m a French teacher with a multidisciplinary background in psychology, sociology, education, and applied research.
I studied psychology and sociology in Montreal, where I also worked in school settings and taught French to adult learners. Over the years, I have worked with students and professionals from a wide range of backgrounds, which has taught me how important it is to adapt teaching to each person rather than rely on a single method.
Today, I mainly work with adult learners and professionals, including Canadian public servants preparing for official-language assessments. This experience has given me a strong understanding of the challenges faced by intermediate and advanced learners who already know a lot of French but want to become more fluent, precise, natural, and confident when speaking.
My background in psychology also influences the way I teach. I pay close attention to how each student learns, what helps them remember, what makes them hesitate, and which patterns keep coming back in their speech. I enjoy turning these observations into practical and personalized learning strategies.
I’m curious, energetic, and I genuinely enjoy making lessons lively. I love languages, social sciences, culture, and conversation, so I’m always happy to build lessons around topics that are meaningful to my students.
Above all, I want my students to feel comfortable making mistakes, experimenting with the language, and seeing their progress over time.

My lessons are highly personalized and designed around each learner’s goals, strengths, and recurring challenges. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all method, I identify the patterns in your mistakes, the areas that slow you down, and the skills you need to strengthen. From there, I build a personalized learning plan and adapt each lesson as you progress.
My background in both psychology and education strongly shapes my teaching approach. I have worked in school settings in Montreal and have experience teaching French to adults and learners with different needs and learning styles. This helps me pay close attention not only to language mistakes, but also to confidence, learning habits, motivation, and the way each student processes new information.
A typical lesson is dynamic and varied. I like to alternate between conversation, targeted grammar work, vocabulary development, pronunciation, error correction, speaking drills, role-play, reading, and practical exercises. I personally get bored quickly with repetitive formats, so I make a real effort to keep lessons engaging and varied. My goal is for students to stay active throughout the lesson and feel like the time passes quickly.
One of the main things that sets my teaching apart is my use of ongoing error analysis. I track recurring difficulties in grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, sentence structure, and natural phrasing, then turn those patterns into targeted exercises. The objective is not simply to understand a rule, but to gradually automate it in spontaneous speech.
For professional learners, I can also focus on workplace communication, meetings, presentations, interviews, and professional vocabulary. My lessons are particularly well suited to intermediate and advanced learners, including adults, professionals, public servants, and students preparing for DELF/DALF or other French-language assessments.
