About Christine

I have an academic background in France and I graduated from l’Alliance Française with professional level, so I am qualified to offer you quality courses. Since 2012 I have had several experiences in education: I have taught French to teenagers and adults in England and Portugal. With me you will be able to improve your French through conversations with activities based on texts, videos… also considering linguistics of language and cultural aspects. To improve your French as you are going to take an exam? Or a job interview? You are planning a trip to a French speaking country? Or you already have a good level in French and just want to have conversations with a native speaker? Please contact me! Whether you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced student, I will be able to adapt to the level and to your needs, 100% in French for a full immersion! In addition you also get access to me between sessions. So if you need extra help you could message me on WhatsApp (only for over legal age or tutor consent) this is at no extra cost. So book your first lesson with me today! Looking forward to meeting you!

About the lesson

My teaching method is entirely tailored to each student’s needs. I focus on conversation as the most effective way to learn, while also incorporating activities based on texts, exercises videos and podcasts . Lessons are designed to develop both linguistic accuracy and cultural understanding of French, ensuring a personalised and effective learning experience adapted to your level.

Perfect! Christine has been amazing with my daughter for her GCSEs. Highly recommend her as she very quickly picked up the core issues with her oral and turned things around in a few months. My daughter not only has gained immense confidence through working with her, her French has become very impressive and we were even considering A'level French as her progress was so great. We are now continuing with Christine for Reading and Writing GCSE- I think partly because my daughter really enjoys learning French with her and doesn't want to stop! Thank you Christine- you have been brilliant.

Seylon has been a wonderful student to teach. She worked consistently and with real determination, and I was delighted to hear that she achieved a Grade 9 in French. Her confidence grew considerably throughout our lessons, and it was very rewarding to see her hard work reflected in such an excellent result. I wish her every success for the future.

Perfect! Christine is amazing, she keeps every lesson entertaining by differentiating learning methods. She is very flexible - she will make you speak and listen, do exercises for grammar, read a book, talk about a tv series or a movie and let you immerge into the language the way that works for you. Do you speak this language fluently because of your origins or because a teacher inspired you to learn?
French is my first language
Can you name a living, historical or fictional character that you think is the emblematic representative of the language's culture?
Definitely Molière, he succeeded in elevating comedy to the human level of tragedy,
All his life, Molière, through all of his plays, will fight against mediocrity, hypocrisy, lack of culture, the pretension of all these characters of the century, who, by the chance of their birth, behaved like a despot and a tyrant.
Is there a typical word, phrase, tradition or behaviour in the language that you particularly like?
"Aux âmes bien nées, La valeur n'attend point le nombre des années." De Pierre Corneille
Why does speaking this language matter to you?
Being my first language it is essential to me and part of my being
What is the main difficulty in learning this language and what can help the process of learning?
I think you don't learn to play tennis by sitting in a hall and studying all the rules of tennis, all the theory of tennis. I think you always need a minimum of theory to understand something. But theory isn't everything. If all you do is store theory, listen to complicated grammar rules, read vocabulary lists that won't do you any good, with words that are taken out of context, you won't improve in a language.
My teaching method is tailor-made as per your needs:
I prevail conversations as the best study tool; with activities based on texts, videos, podcasts also considering linguistic of language and cultural aspects of French I will be able to adapt to your level.
Provide a valuable anecdote related to your language learning or your days at school.
I was considered a mediocre elementary school student, I just didn't fit in and was considered not very clever.... until I met in high school a French teacher: Madame Luc ! her way of teaching, the belief in my abilities and her care for student's individuality awakened in me a taste for reading and studying, I went from dumb to being the best student in the entire high school and that's how I started my journey.
How has travel or a specific trip helped you to increase your skill and knowledge of the language?
I travel regularly, this allows me to be in direct contact with other natives, improve some different accents and feel at home
What makes you a Superprof in language?
I have an academic background in France and I graduated from l'Alliance Française, professional level, so I am qualified to offer you quality courses. Since 2012 I add several experiences in education: I have taught French to teenagers and adults in England and Portugal. With me you will be able to improve your French through conversations.
To improve your French as you are going to take an exam? Or a job interview? You are planning a trip to a French speaking country? Or you already have a good level in French and just want to have conversations with a native speaker? Please contact me! Whether you are an intermediate or advanced student, I will be able to adapt to the level and to your needs, 100% in French for a full immersion! So book your first lesson with me today!
