About Raphaëlle
I am a Franco-American Literature student at the university of McGill, and have been giving personal tutoring lessons for six years – both in French and English language, as well as French literature in preparation for A-levels and the French Baccalaureate. I have worked with beginners, providing them with the necessary tools to achieve desired scores in French language tests, as well as students who have been learning French for many years and wished to take their skills to the next level.

I am currently in the process of completing my TEFL English teacher training, and apply their methods to French language teaching – methods which concern both beginners and more experienced students.
First, I assess the level of my student and determine with them what goals they are trying to achieve (travel abroad, language exam, interview...). Then, together, we construct a feasible study plan and intensity level that would work with their schedule.
This may include some light reading or writing work on days we do not have a lesson (I am a strong believer that regularity is the best way to cement language skills). Depending on the student's level and goals, my lessons are comprised of grammar, conjugation, writing, reading, and especially discussions. I also always like to work through a list of vocabulary words each lesson, leaving my students to take them in until we meet again.
