About Kalia
I am a grandmother, a mother, a music teacher, songwriter, an author,
and a lover of all things French. I enjoy teaching (25 years)
and would like to expand my teaching to French. I am easy
going, and have been to France 5 times, once for a year, when I went to school in Grenoble, France. I am writing a book about a historical figure who spent many years in the south of France.
With my musical background, I teach the music of French, the sounds not like ours (in English), with special focus on pronunciation. It doesn't take long to learn conversational phrases that allow you to speak with people easily, always
asking, of course, for them to speak slowly.

Begin with conversational, everyday speaking phrases, advance to language skills about learning, school, countries, travel, and building vocab as we go. Much emphasis on phonetics, and the sound (music) of a language. Students from 8 years and adults any age. Typical lesson plan includes reading, writing, and pronouncing.
What sets me apart is my 25 plus years as music teacher, a love for kids and families, and my friendly, yet focused nature.
