About Emilie

Hello, my name is Emilie! I was born in France and moved to Argentina as a teenager, with very little knowledge of Spanish. Even though I had studied Spanish at school, my level was abysmal. The only thing I could say was: “I don’t understand, can you repeat please?” So, I had to learn the language from scratch when I started high school. My classmates helped me, and although it was difficult at the beginning, I truly believe that this kind of immersive experience is one of the most effective ways to learn. Now, I know that complete immersion is not always possible. Learning a new language can be challenging (as I myself am still struggling with my “broken” English), but mistakes are not a problem — they are just steps toward mastering the language. My goal is to help you learn French in a relaxed, enjoyable way, without pressure, and with plenty of motivation and fun. I look forward to meeting you and starting this journey together!

About the lesson

Most of my classes are personalized according to the student’s level and goals. Still, I highlight some key aspects of learning French: • The starting point is always French phonetics, since it is the foundation of oral production. • Introduction to essential verbs, such as être (to be) and avoir (to have). • Gradual practice of verb conjugation in different groups, tenses, and moods (don’t worry — we take it step by step). • Vocabulary related to specific themes and an introduction to idiomatic expressions. • Oral and written productions based on these themes. • Reading selected texts to get familiar with French authors and culture. I like my classes to follow a calm rhythm with no pressure: everyone learns at their own pace. My goal is not to overload you with theory to memorize, but to provide guidelines and practical tools you can always refer back to. Although my lessons are mainly designed for beginners, I can also help advanced students. I have worked with learners from different backgrounds, but I have the most experience with Spanish speakers. Because I learned Spanish myself, I understand their specific challenges and can adapt my teaching accordingly.
