About Harper

I am a French tutor with 7 years of experience and a Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics. My passion for language began with a curiosity about how people communicate across cultures. Over time, I developed a strong teaching practice focused on clarity and confidence building.

About the lesson

My French lessons start with building comfort in basic communication. I focus on simple vocabulary, pronunciation, and sentence building so learners can express small ideas quickly. Students are encouraged to speak from the first lesson, even with basic phrases. I use everyday topics like travel, food, and family to make learning practical. Grammar is explained in a simple and slow way so it is easy to understand. Listening exercises help students become familiar with natural French speech. This creates a strong base for further learning.

As students progress, I introduce verb conjugations, structured grammar, and conversation practice. Each topic is practiced through speaking and writing exercises. I help learners build longer sentences step by step. Mistakes are corrected gently so confidence is not affected. Vocabulary is expanded through real-life situations and themed lessons. Students also practice short reading passages to improve understanding. Repetition is used to make grammar natural and automatic over time.

Advanced learners focus on fluent speaking, complex sentence building, and cultural expression. I guide them in expressing opinions and ideas clearly in French. My goal is to help learners speak confidently in real-world situations.
