About Charounda
Fluency is not about memorizing complex rules before you ever speak a word. Most people learn better when they start by mimicking the flow of conversation. We practice listening and build vocabulary through everyday phrases that serve you on the street.
Cultural context is embedded in every exercise so you understand what you are actually saying. I provide a homework module with feedback after every class to keep you on track between meetings. Reading comprehension improves when we look at authentic texts together.
Getting through the DELF or DALF exam requires a steady hand and clear steps. It is quite fun to see how fast you pick up the cadence of the language when you stop worrying about perfection.

Teaching French means admitting that I still prefer the simplicity of a folk song over a dry grammar textbook. My work spans 9 years of helping absolute beginners find their feet in a new culture. I assist travellers who want to speak naturally and kids who need a gentle start. Many students arrive with little confidence but leave ready to navigate a francophone city.
It is rewarding to see learners grasp the rhythm of daily speech. I treat each session as a chance to connect language to real life. My background includes a BM in Popular Music from UdeM which helps me explain the musicality of French vowels. Many students find this approach makes the language feel much more accessible.
