About Mia
I am an undergraduate student at the University of Nottingham, currently on my year abroad, teaching as an English language assistant. I thoroughly enjoyed anything language-related at school: French, English literature, Historical essays, all of it! I want to show more students how to genuinely enjoy a topic, making the complicated parts less tricky so you can truly immerse yourself in all these interesting subjects.

I believe everyone learns in a different way, which is why my lessons are student-led. Once a calm, constructive and understanding environment has been established with my pupil, I will work to gauge an understanding of my pupil’s proficiency in a topic they have chosen. I will then ask them what THEY want to gain from our sessions together, as learner-centredness is integral to a teaching environment. I can go at whatever pace is necessary and explore various different learning methods - visual, auditory, reading/writing, drawing: the list is endless! I am kind and understanding, and I believe learning is possible for anyone, with my help, we will help you find your own way! My lessons will help students establish a skill set that they can take outside of my classroom, so they can learn and grow on their own once they have gained all they need from my teaching. I will ensure my pupils are confident enough to achieve excellent results with these skills and will show them how to utilise the opportunity that challenges provide us. I can’t wait to work with you and look forward to seeing what we achieve together!
