About Sophia
I am a beginning ESL teacher with English/French language teaching experience for L1 Spanish, Russian/Uzbek, Turkish and Chinese learners. Since Spring 2019, I have tutored four students independently resulting in their improved confidence in the four domains of the English language. Before my Master's degree studies, I tutored an entering level adult learner with an L1 of English conversational French.

My teaching approach takes into account the student's L1 and interests before beginning instruction. Any knowledge about my students aids me as an instructor when assembling structured lessons so that I can best relate my instruction to their internal schemata or experiences.
