About Shannon
Learning French became a passion for me at a young age, and my skills in the language have brought me many opportunities. I am a Toronto native and recent BSc physics graduate of McGill University, where I achieved fluency in French on the side.
During my undergraduate, I worked twice at the particle physics laboratory CERN in Geneva, Switzerland, and went on exchange to EPFL in Lausanne, Switzerland, where I took classes entirely in French. These experiences helped me perfect my conversational and professional French. In 2018 I achieved a C1 level on the Test d'Évaluation Français (just one level below C2, which indicates native speaker proficiency).

Learning a language can be exciting, but the rigid format of language classes in schools does not help students discover the freedom of truly expressing themselves.
A typical lesson with me is discussion-focused. Together we select a theme that interests the student, and I construct a grammar/vocabulary lesson around it.
My goal is to give students a rigorous grammatical foundation and the vocabulary to discuss their interests with others.

Greater than 24 hours notice = No charge to the student
Less than 24 hours but more than 8 hours = The student must pay 50% the scheduled lesson price
