About Shanika
I like to think of myself as a forward-thinking, proactive fourth year undergraduate at the University of Nottingham, undertaking a BA in Modern Languages with Business.
The idea of tutoring has held much fascination for me ever since I volunteered at North London Collegiate School, helping primary school students in the development of their study skills. I was also provided with skills that taught me collaborative learning methodologies that aid planning and facilitating tutoring sessions.

As an individual with a keen love for education, I firmly believe that I have what it takes to develop and implement tutoring plans that best fit each individual student’s academic needs.
I can work comfortably with people from diverse backgrounds and can exhibit patience and judgment, especially where the need for both is dire. Moreover, being a student myself, I am aware of the importance to make the student feel relaxed, which in turn helps them become ready to learn. Similarly, the need to break material down into easy-to-understand concepts is something that aids my own learning, as well as methods to stay motivated and focused.
I have been tutoring students in GCSE Spanish since I was at school and has always been a rewarding experience. I will go through confusing grammar concepts and working on oral expression in order to raise confidence levels. You will be a pro in no time!
