About MK
As a former college instructor, I taught classes on interdisciplinary research methods and mentored dozens of graduate students (many who were ESL) through the process of developing their research and defending their thesis or dissertation in social sciences. As a director of research facilities, I consulted on 100+ studies that spanned from focus groups to psychophysiology (and all sorts of methods in between). I love helping students develop their research skills, whether they don't even know where to start a research paper or they're ready to write their dissertation. With a friendly personality and a sense of humor, I try to find ways to make research methods more relatable to my students so they can learn to love research as much as I do!

As a former research lab director (and lifelong researcher) I love research and I think my enthusiasm makes it much easier to learn what can sometimes be a dry or challenging subject. I try to make research methods interesting and engaging by applying the lessons to the real world. The structure of our lesson plan will be based on your goals for our tutoring, but will most likely include a wide range of research methods used in both quantitative and qualitative research. (Don't know what that means? We'll talk about that too!)
If you are a graduate student we will use this time to work together on a paper for your professional development (either thesis/dissertation or an article intended for publication). Along the way we will discuss different methodologies, how to develop a literature review, and tips and tricks for how to survive grad school and make it to the finish line successfully!
These classes are great for:
-Students (of any level) who need help passing a research methods course
-Students who feel like they didn't take a very good research methods foundational course and want to go to grad school.
-Graduate students who want to feel like they have an "extra" committee member dedicated to helping them refine and complete their thesis or dissertation in social sciences.
-Lifelong learners with an interest in learning how to apply empirical research methods to real world conundrums.
